A rare mid-'50s ABC-Paramount date led by bassist Whitey Mitchell, notable for an early appearance by Steve Lacy's soprano sax amid a sextet built around the unusual color of Tom Stewart's tenor horn. Puma's guitar and the double drum presence of Gus and Osie Johnson give this cool-toned session real rhythmic bite.
