The record
A quintet date cut with Lou Levy's crisp piano and the Vinnegar-Manne rhythm section that defined so much of the era's Los Angeles sound, Getz's tenor floats over Candoli's brass with the light, airy swing that gave the coast's cool jazz its name.

The earliest pressing on file here is the 1955 US Norgran MG N-1032, with a yellow-label variant listed the same year -- that is the issue to look for, not the Verve. The 1957 Verve MGV 8028 rows are marked reissues, though one carries a deep groove. A 1956 UK Columbia 33cx 10018 with a laminated sleeve is the notable import. Reissues after that run Japanese and European, up to a 2019 Italian MGV-8028.
