The record

Bossa rhythms color this early-RCA session, Rollins folding Brazilian pulse into that same huge, searching tone without losing his footing. An offbeat stop in the comeback years, worth hearing for the reach alone.

Contemporary reception

No period review located yet. The vintage-press pipeline searches DownBeat, Cash Box, and Billboard for this session.

Pressings

The earliest flag lands on a 1962 French mono, 430.527 S, but that is a tie-break in our data, not precedence -- the US LSP-2572 is listed the same year in Indianapolis, Hollywood and Rockaway pressings, mono and stereo both. Britain followed in 1963 with mono RD. 7524 and stereo SF 7524, and Japan had Victor's SHP-5120. Modern copies are ORG Music's ORGM-2032 from 2015 and a 2023 Japanese reissue, SIJP 1085.
