Cairo big-band jazz cut with the Egyptian Radio and Television Orchestra under Salah Ragab's baton, fusing brass-heavy Ellington-style arranging with local rhythm -- a rare document of Africa's jazz undercurrent surfacing well outside the usual American or European axis.
