The record
A West Coast brass session led by trombonist Milt Bernhart, stacking tubas, french horn, and euphonium against the trumpet section for a thick, low-slung sonority rare in mid-'50s jazz. Ferguson's turn on euphonium and the Candoli-Linn trumpet firepower give this RCA Victor date its distinctive weight and color.
