The record
Two saxophones rarely paired at Blue Note collide here, Hancock's harmonies giving the frontline room to bite and blend by turns. Morgan's writing splits the difference between soul-jazz groove and hard-bop grit, a standout from his busy 1965 run.

Pressings
Both 1967 US issues are on file -- mono BLP 4222 and stereo BST 84222, each RVG stamped -- and the mono is the earliest we list. After that the stereo number does most of the work, running through reissues in 1968, 1973 and 1975 before the 1988 B1-84222. A Japanese BN 4222 followed in 1991, and Blue Note went back to BLP 4222 for a 2008 reissue. No audiophile edition is on file.
