The record
Gathered from more than one date -- three drummers and two pianists show up in the credits -- and it plays as one long exercise in cool, linear improvising: Lee Konitz's alto and Warne Marsh's tenor braiding lines, Billy Bauer's guitar answering as a third voice, Lennie Tristano and Sal Mosca splitting the piano. Prestige assembled it in 1955 as LP 7004. 'Marshmallow' and 'Sound-Lee' are the ones people chase.
