A duo reading of Porter standards, pared down to just alto and bass -- Konitz's spare, behind-the-beat lyricism finds a perfect foil in Red Mitchell's warm, singing tone. Recorded for the European Inner City label in the mid-'70s, it's chamber jazz at its most intimate, all melody and no clutter.
