The record

Thick, funk-heavy grooves and layered percussion define this 1976 set, Ben's tightest fusion of samba, rock, and Afro-Brazilian rhythm -- with Bertrami's keys and a deep conga-and-atabaque battery driving "Taj Mahal" and its neighbors into a hypnotic strut.

Pressings

The earliest we list is the 1976 Brazilian Philips, 6349 187, stereo -- the number to look for, and one that gets reused on later Brazilian repressings and on an unofficial copy, so check the label and jacket rather than trusting the digits alone. International issues followed in 1977, including Japan's Philips FDX-352. For a clean modern copy, Polysom's Brazilian 33057-1 from 2010, repressed in 2020, is the straightforward option.
