Guitarist and second-string foil John Pisano trace Reinhardt's phrasing back to its source, Hughart and Bailey keeping the pulse loose underneath. Two guitars converse rather than duel, the whole record warm with gratitude toward its namesake.

The earliest pressing on file here is the 1964 US Pacific Jazz mono, PJ-85, with a white-label mono promo listed alongside it; the US stereo runs as ST-85. Europe got the record through Fontana the same year, 688 146 ZL in mono and 888 146 ZY in stereo from the Netherlands, and Japan through Victor as SMJ 7338. No row carries a deep groove or stamp marker. Later Pacific Jazz 180g reissues run from 2013 to 2018.
