A mid-'60s Japanese hard-bop date led from the kit, with a young Terumasa Hino and Jiro Inagaki firing off punchy front-line statements over Yuji Ohno's percussive comping. Shiraki's drumming drives the session with the crisp, groove-forward swing that made him a fixture of Japan's jazz boom.
