The record

Riverside caught Wilkerson honking over a hard-bop frame, Nat Adderley's cornet weaving through a rhythm section that splits bass duties between Vinnegar and Jones. Recorded a couple years before his Blue Note run with Cannonball's brother in the fold.

Session personnel

  • Leroy Vinnegar — bass
  • Sam Jones — bass
  • Nat Adderley — cornet
  • Billy Higgins — drums
  • Barry Harris — piano
  • Don Wilkerson — tenor saxophone
