The record
Capitol's small-group format gets reworked here around 1960, Art Pepper's alto and Abe Most's clarinet layered into arrangements bearing Marty Paich's fingerprints. Three drummers pass through the sessions, but the writing stays tight and chamber-scaled throughout.
