The record
A 1969 Prestige compilation, PR 7647, drawn from more than one band -- the credits carry three bassists, three guitarists and four pianists, Mary Lou Williams among them on piano and celesta. Henry "Red" Allen and J.C. Higginbotham handle the brass, Hilton Jefferson doubles alto and clarinet, and Hawkins is the thread. Don Schlitten produced the reissue, Rudy Van Gelder cut the lacquer.
