Cut over four days at the close of '74, this quintet -- Pullen's roiling piano and Adams's raw-throated tenor especially -- caught Mingus in a late-period surge, sequel sessions yielding some of his most muscular working-band writing.

Pressings

The earliest we list is a 1975 US Atlantic SD 1677, a Monarch pressing; other US copies of the same number came out of PRC and Presswell, so the plant markings are the main thing separating them. The 1975 German ATL 60 108 is the gatefold in the list. For a new copy, Music On Vinyl reissued it on 180 gram in 2013 as MOVLP701.
