The record
A budget-label West Coast set from Shank's mid-career run, cut for Crown at a moment when the alto man was straddling cool-jazz roots and the bossa-inflected sounds taking over the scene. Personnel unlisted, but the flute-and-alto blend and airy charts are pure early-'60s Pacific jazz sensibility.
