The record
Kotick and Motian back a young pianist still finding his voice, though the spacious chords and unhurried phrasing already point somewhere new. A first reading of 'Waltz for Debby' shows up here, long before it became the tune everyone knew him for.

Pressings
Mono is the whole story here -- the earliest on file is a 1957 US Riverside RLP 12-223 with deep groove, and a second 1957 copy without it carries a laminated sleeve. Riverside kept the number alive through repressings in 1958, 1960 and 1961. OJC-025 from 1982 is the cheap listening route; Analogue Productions cut it at 45 rpm as AJAZ 12-223 in 2010 and returned in 2025 with APJ 12-223-45.
