The record
Carter turns up in the credits four times over -- alto saxophone, clarinet, trumpet, vocals -- which is most of the argument for the record. Teddy Wilson and Chu Berry are in the band, and so, improbably, is Mezz Mezzrow on drums. A 1969 Prestige reissue compilation assembled by Don Schlitten, with Johnny Simmen's notes and a title that is simply a date.
