A trio date from the pianist who'd already logged time alongside Bird and Getz, here stripped down to the essential language of bebop piano with Bill Crow's bass and Lee Abrams' brushes keeping close, unfussy company. Quiet, harmonically alert playing that shows why Haig remained the sideman's sideman of choice through the '50s.
